Our volunteers are the heartbeat of what we do. Whether you're walking a dog, driving a transport, helping at an event, or simply sitting in our Senior Room giving a lonely pup some love, your presence changes lives. Every hour you give goes straight to the dogs in our care.

Feed, clean, groom, and give one-on-one attention to the dogs at our rescue. Hands-on work that supports their daily well-being.

Help set up, handle dogs, and talk with visitors about our pups and the adoption process. You're the face of our rescue!

Drive dogs safely to vet appointments, foster placements, adoptions, events, and more.

Take a dog on a walk, a trip to a pet-friendly store, or a park outing, or spend time with our seniors right here in the Senior Room.

Help raise funds, run donation drives, table at events, and spread the word about our dogs.

Have a skill or idea that isn't listed? Let us know. We welcome volunteers who want to get involved in creative ways.
You won't be thrown in the deep end. Training and support are provided when needed, and our coordinator is always available to guide you. Sign up for one role or several, and if there are duties you're not comfortable with, like giving medications or clean-up, just tell us. We'll work with you to find the right fit.
Tell us about yourself, your availability, and which roles interest you.
Review our agreement and program guide. It covers role details, safety, confidentiality, and Arizona heat safety for small breeds.
Once cleared, we'll go over everything you need to know on your first day, so you feel comfortable and confident.
Pick up shifts, events, transports, or Day Dates as your schedule allows. Just keep us posted if plans change. 💜
Please reach us at astsbr@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
