Become a Foster

Foster Application

For some of our dogs, the best place to wait for their family is on someone's couch. A senior who just wants a soft bed and a quiet home. A little one who needs a bit more time and attention to show us who they really are. Fostering gives them that, and everything you learn about them helps us find the family they're meant for.



What fosters do

Provide a comfortable home

Give an older dog or a dog who needs extra attention a quiet, loving place to settle in while they get ready for adoption and wait for their forever family.

Get to know them

Learn how your foster does with different people, kids, and other pets, whether they're potty trained, and how they handle everyday routines and more.

Share what you see

Send us updates and photos so we know how they are doing and so we can write an honest profile and find the best match.

We match you with a dog whose needs fit your home. You can also see the dogs in need of foster in our private foster Facebook group.

We'll get you set up with supplies and everything you need to know about your foster.

Give daily love, routine, any care they need, and rides to appointments. Share updates on how they do. We're here to help anytime.

When your foster is adopted, you'll know you helped make it happen. When you're ready, we'll match you with the next one. 💜

Fosters must be 18 or older and live in the Phoenix metro area, and must be able to drive to our location in North Phoenix and our Vet in Scottsdale for appointments. Other locations may apply for events. Everyone in the household should be on board with fostering.

Foster stays vary by dog, from a few weeks to a few months, depending on their needs. However, we will work with your timeline. 

If you fall in love with your foster, let us know. Fosters are welcome to apply to adopt.

Please be patient with us. We're a volunteer-based nonprofit, and our first priority is always the care of our dogs. 💜
